I promise you shooting a tech executive will never be satisfying, violence like this never is and it won’t help anything anyway instead we need to ostracize these people, put them into prison, take all their money and create a society where children are the taught the truth about these worthless villains.

Is that harder? Yes, but it is also far more emotionally satisfying.

What if they never go to prison and instead take over the government and put you in prison for criticizing them?

            Than I am fucked?

Shooting people would just accelerate the process of me being fucked however?

It is precisely what authoritarians want us to do so that more violence and authoritarianism can be rationalized.

I’m not advocating for shooting people but I’m also not going to be polyannish and “why can’t we just hold the bad guys accountable.”

The truth is in our current situation the bad guys hold all the levers of power and appear completely unwilling to give them up. It reminds me of the JFK quote: “Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable”

"Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable

…yes and I would finish that statement by saying “and violent revolution has far less chance of actually threatening power, which is why the powerful attempt to foreclose other forms of resistance and push people towards violence.
