Canvas 2026 has concluded!
Thank you all for participating, it’s been a blast as always! 💜
Canvas 2026 ran from July 18th @ 4am UTC - July 20th @ 4am UTC
Feedback & Future Events
Hope you enjoyed the event as much as I and the moderators did! If you have any feedback, feature requests, or really anything, drop it in this thread (include any fun event ideas you have as well!)
Canvas Prints ✨
Bringing the Canvas prints back this year, but only for like 2 weeks. Once August 1st rolls around, the shop will close again. (You’ll also be able to buy any previous year’s prints)
International shipping is a pain, so this year the shop will only let you checkout with an address in the United States. But! if you are wanting to get a print, but are not in the US, fill out this form and I’ll see what I can do :)
Source
Just as always, Canvas is an open source project! If you want to take a peek at the code, report and issue directly to the tracker, or even contribute yourself, the source is available on sc07.dev
You can register either with your Fediverse account, or with an email and password. Unfortunately due to a lot of casino bots, registration is behind an approval queue. Send an email to [email protected] if you’d like to ensure I see it
Timelapses
Not yet available, but they will be posted in the [email protected] Lemmy community, on the @[email protected] Mastodon, and of course on sc07.tv PeerTube

Had an amazing time? https://tips.sc07.com/ (credit/debit) or Venmo @sc07_
I love the tiny little Algerian flags dotted around!
I did a heart in a seemingly empty corner (I’ve since been educated on templates) and a French flag that turned into a border. Oh and a Minecraft diamond helmet under the arcade player, and I wrote Feddit.uk and thanks for my fellow fedditors who came to the rescue and did the Union Jack and internet flags around it.
i love how this showed up in my lemmy.world feed, but the relevant links to contribute did not.
(/sarcasm if you couldn’t tell.)
In case you didn’t know, thebutton is running again soon. You can pre-register and read more at [email protected]
Didn’t know this was a thing but I appreciate the Germans telling Merz to lick balls.
Oh yeah, a few weeks back a protester on some demonstration had a sign saying “Merz leck Eier” (lick eggs/balls, same diff), and the police confiscated the sign and charged them with “an insult to a political official capable of damaging their public work” (roughly translated), an obviously preposterous state of affairs even if you ignore the fact that we apparently have Lèse-majesté-laws again. Hence the well earned ridicule.
Maybe we should try calling him “1 pimmel” next?
Anzeige is sent, get ready for your personal Hausdurchsuchung
atleast we got a nice song out of this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jcB4zu4KX10 (collab version https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kGsh7yh7iSE)
Graphic design is our passion.
TIL this happened.
yea it’s always a struggle getting the event out lol
for this year I did setup a mailing list, so the posts don’t get lost on your feed (and if you check your email regularly)

Thanks everyone for participating <3 Hope to see you all next year again
The cursor dance party at the end was great
The picture top right is just amazing. I love it so much.
Wow! The water trickles all the way from the top!
That’s the trickle down theory.
trickle down
interestingly though is that the water trickled UP? (it was drawn from the bottom up)
Nice detail, I didn’t see that at first!
I had it traced back to the planet Earth and stopped there, but now that you mention it, I can see it’s coming from the river at the top right. Very cool!
was my first canvas here and I had a lovely time, thank you for letting me help you all out with your amazing art, hope I didn’t step on too many toes, you are wonderful people 💜 great job everyone
Never underestimate the power of a bunch of autists
Thank you so much for organising this again! Canvas is always such a cool event and really shows how much cool stuff people can make when they work together :3
Thanks for running it :)
Every time I come back here, I see this post and misread it as ‘Thanks for ruining it :)’ and it makes me momentarily angry until I realize what you actually said. So, thanks for that. :)
I liked that it didn’t feel like there were many (any?) bots, and artwork was moved instead of being erased. Congrats to a smoothly running event, and thanks to all who played.
Great picture and nearly no country flags, that’s nice to see!
Except the UK who just can’t stop themselves from colonising any new areas.
Come on, let them have it. They have it hard enough already with all the leg shooting they are busy with.
(Also I have to admit that it is at least a visually interesting flag, not like so many others)
Do you have a flag?
This was super fun again!
Thanks to everyone who participated on the Home Arcade on the right side of the canvas! When I woke up on Sunday to see it completed, it felt like a miracle!
I helped with the butt
You may have started the wave of poop vandalism with that
Oh I must’ve missed that 😬 lol
Can’t resist caking it up, I see !
Thank you for all your work. The last years I thought you must be one of the graybearded fediwizards, judging by how well this event is run. But after watching your Fireside Fedi episode, I have to say it’s nice to see that young people are building awesome stuff for the fediverse.
Thanks to everyone for your colorful pixels, participating in cursor dances and the minimal use of country flags. This was a lot of fun.
I have to second this. The Fireside talk was a nice behind the scenes view and I appreciate Grant even more!
