“He hoped that Chinese people could enjoy freedom and democracy, and did not like the way that China’s authoritarian system oppressed the common people,” said Wu’s wife, Li Caoliu, who lives in the US with him.
Hope that this is a wakeup call for Asian-Americans who think they’re model minority enough.
San Fran is full of Koreans who vote Republican.
Anecdote and therefore statistically worthless, but nearly every Asian I’ve actually gotten to know was quite plainly racist against black and brown people. And we’ve unfortunately come to learn racism is a strong motive, stronger than self preservation in many cases.
There’s a large percentage for sure. My wife is Asian and sometimes, she goes into the terrible Facebook news spiral of watching black on Asian hate crimes.
From my perspective, those are amplified. The same hate crime by some racist white trash isn’t getting the same views or attention. They happen just as much, but nobody is filming.
100% amplified and purposefully misframed.
If people don’t learn, the spiral will collapse like OB. The dimension itself doesn’t but when distribution is meaningless to no development, compression will solidify to pavement and reality will move the fuck on.
…what?
Oh, I’d apologize but even with punctuation, that is knot a question Be specific or be stoned. I would think you didn’t understand the only acronym I used if you actually asked a question instead of barking at night like a squirrel forgetting where they left their hay.
Sounds like much more stoned than specific.
Asians have never been immune from bigotry etc. Where many westerners might lump them all together culturally and visually. They still find differences among themselves to hate. People are people, everywhere you go.
