This is a little more nuanced than I thought. Trump is avoiding vetting by his appointment of the acting dude. Good to know.
He did this in the first term as well - float a guy as acting whatever, then just shovel them out the door when someone says “hey why is this sketchy dude an AG”.
Next person who gets in like this needs to spend their 54 minutes demoting or firing any administration lackies in the line of succession.
