I think we should try to make things better for the next generation. That’s the goal, build up civilization some. But if you didn’t cause destruction or damage, that’s not bad.
I think it’s ok to live a life where you don’t achieve something grandiose. Just enjoy what you can, and help others without it being a detriment to yourself.
I prefer optimistic nihilism, such as John keats’ epitaph “Here lies one whose name was writ in water”. ashes to ashes dust to dust, the wheel in the sky keeps on turning, same as it ever was etc.
Wait, there’s something else?
Absolutely!
You can also be terrorized by the state!
Do something nice for someone, even if it is a stranger. It can be something small for you, but mean the world for them.
When I go out, I can at least say I gave somebody hope.
And if you cannot do something right then or maybe you are socially awkward just doing your best to lead every interaction with kindness works.
Waymond in everything everywhere all at once said it so well
That way, you can help someone else pay their bills!
You can not pay your bills and live forever.
So you mean almost all of us here?
Oh no, we are very special. Each and every one of us.
I, for example, don’t pay my bills.
