They confirmed they started working on it in 2014.
Without a percentage of how much they’ve accomplished in the last 12 years, it’s hard to judge if they’re still just 12 more years away, or 36 more years away…
Or two weeks away! Or 56 years! Or 52 minutes! Or 19 seconds! Or a thousand years!

The Windows copy dialogue of completion times 😂
I like your range
They have a Windows app. How hard can it be to convert it to work on linux?
Very late but good to know; this and physical games and I’m officially a gog fan
They have said this before, I will believe it when I see it.
I’m wondering how long it can take to just port an existing launcher to linux? If I can remember right, the interface, store etc. is all just the embedded website, apart from certain elements. That’s something a halfway talented developer could probably do within two weeks tops.
They might be trying to integrate wine into the launcher.
Nice, one of the main reasons I buy a lot of stuff on Steam is because it’s easy to use with Linux distros.
I’m doing fine with Heroic, no rush
Since they announced that they’re working towards GOG Galaxy on Apple Silicon, this seems like a natural progression.
Whoever these people are, they’re fucking amazing, and I love them
Holy fucking shit, it’s about time. I would’ve loved to see this 10 years ago, but better late than never.
Maybe I’ll start digging into more of my GOG library once this is out. Yes, I’m aware Heroic exists, but I’ve never been a huge fan of it.
If its open source I’ll give it a try. Show us what you’ve got.
I’d love a storefront API so I could use whatever client I want that meets the spec. At least I could know then what information is being exchanged.
About fucking time
Go GOG!
hell yeah
So will this include its own wine or proton wrapper or will we still have to set that up manually? 🤔
I could see value if I don’t have to tinker with that myself.
Umu-Launcher could be used which would have the same compatibility as Steam.
The momentum and attention Linux is getting lately is beautiful to see. Hope it keeps going strong for long enough to make it mainstream.
