Black coffee and avocado on whole wheat toast with salt and pepper
Simple.
Classic.
Delicious.
Welp, there goes this month’s rent
I used to think I hated avocado because I associated it with guac which always had cilantro. When I actually had avocado alone I was massively surprised and elated.
I make guac with mint sometimes.
I can vouch for this.
My wife is Thai and in Thailand they have a whole class of dishes called “yam”(ยำ)* which is typically a salad (not in the leafy greens sense) typically dressed with fish sauce, lime, and chilis and commonly containing mint, onion, lemon grass, Chinese celery, along with a protein. And if you sub avocado for the protein it’s absolutely amazing.
* it’s the same ”yam” as Tom Yam (ต้มยำ) soup which translates to ”Boiled Yam”
For me, all guac really needs is salt and lime. Maaaaaybe some onion if you have it.
I feel like folks over engineer their guac. After the onion, it’s all diminishing returns.
As a cilantro fiend, all I need for something to be guac is avocado, cilantro, and lime 😅.
Different tastes for different folks, I guess.
Even though coffee and avocados come from Latin America, the salt and pepper makes it feel like it’s from the United States.
How’s the rent life? Lol
Of
No no - these are the breakfast champions
No time for losers?
