Politicians these days sit in their offices and contemplate how to cause as much misery and maximise profits at the same time.
Not that I am or will ever be a worm in DeSantis’s brain, but I figure people like him put populism above any such logic.
In other words, I don’t think he cares what impact this will have; he just cares that it will drive his base to the polls to support him. If eating babies live on TV would make his polling numbers go up 10%, he’d do it.
Why MAGA would want to kill cancer treatment funding is beyond my mental gymnastics abilities without further digging into what is a very depressing article. I assume it was labeled “woke” or a non-zero amount of the cancer patients were immigrants or something.
