Test result : it does show as a thumbnail but it is no longer animated.

Edit :
Only way I can make it appear on the feed as a thumbnail is is if I use an external site containing the *.gif image : putting the URL of that image in the URL field of the post.

      I am not using that app so I could not say or test.
      is it animated in a web browser ? From here it is just fine.
