    I read somewhere that the reason Churchill became prime minister was because when we was the Foreign Minister, he never trusted Hitler from the beginning. He knew that Hitler was known to break agreements and thus could not be trusted, while the rest of the British parliament ignored him and believed that Hitler won’t do anything if he’s not provoked.

    It was only after Germany invaded Poland that the British parliament finally believed him and he rode that support to become prime minister.
