I’m lucky my dog is so calm I can literally take food out of her mouth and she doesn’t do anything

I trained mine to allow that. It’s one of those basic dog ownership things everyone with a dog should work on. Food aggression is bad enough but some day you might need to get something out of your dogs mouth and you don’t want to have to worry about getting bitten.

Yeah, my dog wasn’t extremely well-trained, but he knew not to bite people, even if we were taking something from him.

Now, playing ‘keep away’ with things he wasn’t supposed to have? Never did cure that, lol.

That’s a great thing to do, honestly I didn’t do any training on her, she was adopted 2,5 years ago and was more or less 3 or 4 years old and she was already very docile(not with cats though)

I only adopt rescues, my first 2 dogs loved to run away and were both super food aggressive. I couldn’t train it out of them. Then my most recent recent dog I got was a 1 year old GSD. I let her off leash at the park sometimes and even if there’s a other dog or a squirrel she won’t run off, shell generally stay near me and she will always come if I call. The other thing I love about her is 0 food aggression. There’s no point to this post I just love my dog 🐕

That’s great, mine is also adopted, those abandoned dogs deserve the best since life was too harsh to them

    He never makes my breakfast.

    That’s all I’m saying.

I do it every day multiple times a day, and yet he acts like I know nothing of breakfast jonsnow.

Depends on the dog. I’ve had four dogs. My first dog would get super pissed off if you got even near her while she was eating. My second dog got scared and ran away if you approached him while eating. My third dog is fine unless you actually touch her bowl, then she growls. My fourth dog doesn’t give a shit and lets you take the bowl away. He walks away and then comes back later.

He’s not chill, he’s a little zoomy boy. He just is unusually not food-motivated like most dogs. He even lets me take things out of his mouth. He kept bringing acorns in this morning through the dog door and chewing them up and making a big mess until I started taking them from him every time he brought one inside.

          Now he’s doing it outside.

          Terrible dog.
