If Canada was smart they’d make a trade agreement with Mexico and China to get Chinese vehicles made in Mexico and Canada.
This is probably the greatest domino left they can play in order to truly fuck America. The shit American automotive industry has done #@&! All for innovation outside of Tesla and is a protectionism racket.
Let China flood the zone in Mexico and Canada and America will finally get Chinese vehicles and everyone wins but American automakers and their stakeholders.

Canada is one of their stakeholders, as these cars are built with pieces and raw materials made in Canada. That sector is the second largest export from Canada by value.

Yes, but part of the problem negotiating Chinese cars being built in Canada is that China wants to only use Chinese nationals for labor and have them stay in barracks at the car plant.
I’m going to let you in on a little secret. The EVs they AREN’T building but we WANT TO BUY will use even more of those resources.
BYD is already looking at building vehicles in Canada.
As somebody who owns some Ford stock, yes please. Kill the value. Make them innovate or die. Either I get a nicer investment fund or a shitty corporation fizzles out. I’ll probably hold for at least 20 more years either way. I’m no day trader.
