Corpse Reviver No. 2 with a bit of orange.

  • 1 part gin
  • 1 part Lillet (or Cochi)
  • 1 part Cointreau
  • half part lemon juice
  • half part orange juice
  • absinthe rinse

Honestly, it is better without the orange. Usually I do 3/4 part lemon juice to keep it from tasting like an expensive gin sour.

    Have you tried acid-adjusting the orange or using sour orange? I agree orange juice is kinda flat in cocktails. But orange & absinthe are so weirdly good together.

    I love me a CR#2! I like mine heavy on the absinthe, but I may be less sensitive to licorice-like flavors than some.

    Oh and with Cocchi Americano rather than Lillet. My understanding is that Lillet changed their recipe some decades back, making it less bitter, and the Cocchi Amer will give you something closer to the original.

    Nice! It’s one of my favourites, I’ll have to try making it without the orange next time
