James Hoffmann and Lucia Solis are organizing a live event around the world for tasting coffee beans produced using 4 different fermentation processes.

I managed to get a tasting kit and is came in the mail today! This wasn’t easy, it sold out very quickly.
Since I had to pay a substantial amount for shipping from afar, I got myself an extra bag from the roster to try out.
Got one as well. I am hyped for saturday.
Same! Looking forward to Saturday!
My kit came with a water mineral packet and a sample of one of the roaster’s other coffees.

I got mine from the same roaster. They provided me their lychee sample. Very nice stuff.
Oh, that’s cool ! I will definitely get some good water for the tasting. Probably Volvic.
Close-up of the explanation card:

Yeah this is meant to be read after the tasting though ;)
EDIT: never mind, in your kit is everything already put on the bags! In mine there are only colors and a “solution” sheet that one can keep secret until having tasted
Oh that’s fun.
Seems like fun. Understand that James doesn’t want to do these anymore as I’m sure it’s a ton of work to coordinate. That being said, the demand seems pretty intense. Seems like this could easily generate enough revenue for a new staffer to manage the heavy lifting and perhaps improve efficiency to the point where these sorts of tastings could be more accessible and affordable.
Oh shit I completely forgot! I managed to put an order, fingers crossed they’ll honour it. Thank you for posting!
I got mine several days ago from Purpur in Germany
I’m jealous! Everywhere close to me was sold out when I found out about this. I’m sure I could’ve ordered from halfway across the country but I didn’t want to deal with shipping with that.
I saw the video few hours after it was posted and all rosters in Germany had already sold out, I order in France.
What brewing method are you planning on using for the taste test? Cupping is the traditional method, but it’s a weird process.
As I understand, we are supposed to use cupping.
