Bill Maher has delayed returning to his HBO talk show during the ongoing strike by writers and actors, a decision that follows similar pauses over the weekend by “The Drew Barrymore Show,” “The Talk” and “The Jennifer Hudson Show.”
Maher last week said he would bring his show back into production, but on Monday said he’ll wait because talks are scheduled to begin between producers and writers on Wednesday.

I think you can have sense and still find him a little entertaining. He’s definitely a bit full of himself, but I enjoy hearing someone talk shit a little shit about the left.
Guess I did get a little tired of him, haven’t watched his show in like a year. But I wouldn’t say I hate him.
He’s a disgusting individual who regularly courts the fascist alt-right while making statements where we routinely attacks average people.
I’ve hated him for platforming conservatives for years while offering the weakest counter-points to their sophistry. He thinks he’s Jon Stewart, but lacks the discipline and hard work that goes into preparing for interviews with hostile guests.
Yeah I remember him having Rand Paul on and he didn’t call him on any of his bullshit at all. That was when I stopped watching.

He’s definitely a douche. And that’s probably too kind of a term (shit stain is more accurate). To put it simply, it wouldn’t surprise me if tomorrow the same allegations being thrown at Russell Brand were thrown at Bill Maher.
And even if they were false, it just goes to show how little I think of his quality as a person that that wouldn’t surprise me in the slightest.
That’s not controversial? It’s known that he’s taken a pronounced, pandering turn to the right and is not redeemable.
I don’t hate him, but there is a lot of ego and vanity on the guy. And he’s far less clever than he thinks he is.

I listen to his show as a podcast. I miss out on the imagery some of the bits require, but it’s still a great listen.

He realized that the crowds at the sad casinos he does his “comedy” at were aging rapidly. They increasingly wanted a “different” kind of “humor” and he’s as desperate as they come. So he sold out any morals/decency he had as a person so he can stay in the “spotlight” - even if that spotlight is aimed wrong and is housed at the smaller, more rundown theater in the Central Oklahoma’s third largest casino with a C from the health department that just had a big hepatitis outbreak.
