… May be time for a reunion.

Lawson is really good. He’s proven himself on the track.

Tbh he’s been way more impressive than Riccardo. He’s come out with 2 points already Vs Riccardo’s 0 points.

If I were Alpha Tauri I’d make Lawson and Tsunoda the official drivers with Riccardo as backup.

I have to agree. His performances in both Zandvoort and Singapore have earned him a seat in my eyes.

IMO Ricciardo’s future should be as a reserve/sim driver and marketing. He had a great run in RB and Renault, but his time has passed. And I have no doubt he’d make a great commentator or analyst for TV coverage.

Red Bull would be dumb to not bring Lawson back next year. Yuki and Ric have had their chance, time to cut one loose depending on how the rest of this year goes.

There’s absolutely 0 chance that Williams drop Sargeant. They’ve pretty much explicitly said that he was brought into F1 a year earlier than they planned and they’ll be giving him another one. After next year I could see them replacing him, but not after this one

DR will almost certainly be in the seat next year. He’s too important for their advertising, and that’s what matters in the end.

Lawson brings very little to the table outside of being quick. It really sucks for him, but I really don’t see him with a seat next year

If Lawson replaces someone at AT it’d be Tsunoda. Honda partnering with Aston Martin means they’re not going to keep someone just because they’re brought by Honda. And DR is like the golden PR boy, they need him when they rebrand to Hugo Boss.

Looked it up, and apparently they recently stated they have an even bigger title sponsor coming. I still think that DR is automatically in if he wants to be in.

Sad that Ricciardo is now somebody who is being considered for his commercial contributions rather than his sporting ones

While true, I do hope he can get back to the top so he can combine his great personality with some more wins.

I have a feeling he’s going to stay in the seat even if Danny Ricciardo heals up.

I disagree. I think they give both a somewhat equal number of races and then see who finished better.

Counterpoint: Yuki’s probably off the grid next year no matter what.

AT are almost certainly not keeping him, and who’s going to sign him?

Why would Alpha Tauri not keep Tsunoda?

We did see his real performance in Hungary and Belgium. He is a lot closer to tsunoda than de Vries was but still a little behind what tsunoda has been producing all year
