Listen, if your SO doesn’t want to hear you infodump about shit that means absolutely nothing to them, just because it is intensely sexy to watch someone being passionate about something, dump their ass.

I love it when my wife goes off on weird ass fucking tangents about what some member of the Hapsburgs got up to, or the particulars of Czechoslovakian military uniforms in the 1980s or whatever, because it’s just so cool watching her be so invested in this stuff.

Find someone who appreciates passion, and appreciate theirs in kind.

I gotta disagree with you homeslice.

Listening to my husband talk about Warhammer; cool as fuck, love that you love your hobby. Here are the top memes from grimdank that I don’t understand but I know you will! I love that you laugh, then tell me why you laughed.

Listening to my husband talk about Magic: The Gathering? I do not give a fuck why are so many people all the way up the ass of Wizards and why do you assholes need to tell me every single time they partner to do limited runs of art from other IPs that are explicitly designed to make you shell out every goddamn dime every chance they get because FOMO!!

You’re allowed to have limits is my point. Having limits on which things you just can’t stand hearing about anymore doesn’t make you a bad partner. It makes you human.

What a loser. I love to hear about the personal preferences of others. Choice is fascinating.

To add - I have a friend who uses Mac OS, despite gaming. And we’ve talked about why and I think it’s cool, she’s made a lot od great decisions with her PC. But if I bring up Linux, she gets defensive as if I am proselytozing her, and asking her to use Linux, or she insults Linux. I can tell her why I enjoy what I enjoy, and she will just go off on a rant about why it’s bad.

People talking about that thing they’re passionate about is one of the most attractive things ever. It’s enamouring like nothing else, and it brings me so much joy to see someone doing it

Noooooo you cannot run a depenable distro, you must use an unstable flavor of the month Arch spinoff! If the distro doesn’t break every other update, are you even using Linux?

Yeah, listening to a monologue about a topic you have zero comprehension for is no great conversation. Conversation partners who are unable to read your boredom and keep rambling until you set boundaries and beyond are the worst.

You can remove all the snap stuff yourself pretty easily. Other than that I don’t really care about differences between Debian and Ubuntu.
