I went down a cave diving rabbit hole on YouTube a few years back, mostly focusing on stories about how people died there, which may have affected my opinion but it is the scariest activity that I can think of. I used to think that wingsuit flying by a mountain side was the worst but I don’t need even a second to decide which I’m doing if I’m forced to pick one of the two.
Edd Sorenson is a legendary body recovery diver who has some epic stories on YouTube of him recovering bodies from caves and even managing to bring a few lost divers back alive, which almost never happens, thus the term body recovery, not rescue diver. That guy’s ability to keep his nerves cool in the most stressful situations imaginable is something borderline incomprehensible to me.
Just wait till you learn about deep sea saturation diving!
I do this safely from the comfort of my basement by playing Subnautica. No way I’d even consider doing this in real life
Incredible. I find this terrifying. Truly brave explorers.
Here’s a video from the team about the dive. It’s very unscary if you’re worried about any tight squeezes (that’s what gives me anxiety when watching those)
