I have a RS1221+ that I am trying to setup as a NUT client. I see that a lot of the packages are already installed for a server config, however that’s not what I’m looking for.
I have a Raspberry Pi setup as my server, which several other machines are being served from without issues.
How can I go about setting up my Synology NAS as a client?
I’ve gotten close. I see that the service is noticing when my UPS loses battery, and appears to be issuing the shutdown command, however nothing seems to happen.
I haven’t done this before, but I see that NUT can run an SNMP server and present itself as a UPS, basically passing through the info from USB to SNMP. I’d probably go that way, then configure the Synology to query SNMP and shut itself down automatically.
