Sounds like it’s just a ploy to deflect blame from the burn-the-country-down House Republicans to the President. Just do your fucking job, Mr. Speaker of the House.
It’s worse than that. He already made a deal, then the chucklefucks in the “Freedom Caucas” that hold McCarthy’s balls in their claws told him to get a deal with all their batshit riders attached. McCarthy’s an idiot for thinking he could appease them, and anyone who voted Republican is an idiot for thinking this party understands how to functionally run a government.
He’s also an idiot for not walking right over to Hakeem and saying “Give me the votes to pass the budget I negotiated with President Biden and promise to vote against any recall motions, and I’ll get enough Republicans on board to pass it” and then telling Gaetz to get fucked, because as long as he’s willing to cross the aisle Gaetz and the rest of the Freedumb Cocks are powerless.
Of course, finding enough Repubs to go along with such a plan may be like Abraham finding ten righteous people in Sodom.
Shutdown “and border”
Get fucked Qevin. This has got nothing to do with border. Your Nazi caucus is ungovernable and you suck at your job.
If you really care about border security bring on the comprehensive immigration reform and border security bill on the floor. Until then shut up. Everyone knows you don’t give shit about securing the border because then you won’t have those convenient “MiGRaNT CaRaVANs” coming to rescue your election turnouts.
This is the best summary I could come up with:
WASHINGTON — Speaker Kevin McCarthy said Tuesday he thinks it’d be “very important” to have a meeting with President Joe Biden to avert a government shutdown and emphasize the need to pass the GOP’s border security package.
McCarthy suggested that Biden could solve the crisis at the southern border — a major sticking point for Republicans in shutdown talks — unilaterally.
McCarthy and Biden did meet earlier this year as they negotiated over the debt ceiling and came to an agreement on top-line spending numbers that were meant to make the government funding process easier.
But not long after striking that agreement, and amid spending complaints from conservatives, McCarthy agreed to ignore the deal with Biden and try to pass bills at a lower level.
House conservatives are demanding that steep spending cuts be tied to any appropriations bills or short-term funding deal that moves through Congress.
And, in recent days, McCarthy has attempted to make the shutdown showdown about the GOP’s border security measure, known as H.R.
