Basiclly title. I can only see options to block a user or a community. Am I missing something or is there no such functionality?
If you find out how, let me know so I don’t need to block every fetish sub one at a time as they appear.
Seems like right now the only way to block an instance is to use a defederated instance. I agree that it should be an option in the app.
Not yet, but I’m hoping it will come in the future.
On the desktop version it’s possible via a greasmonkey script: https://greasyfork.org/en/scripts/469297-block-lemmy-instances
If that’s the case, you wouldn’t be limited to a desktop.
Android users can also install the script using Firefox,- https://www.xda-developers.com/mozilla-general-extension-support-firefox-for-android-nightly/
- https://www.ghacks.net/2022/10/20/firefox-beta-for-android-now-supports-custom-add-on-collections/
- Create an account & add all the necessary add-ons to the collection in it starting with the one already compatible with our browser otherwise, the list will be empty.
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/collections/ - Go to the Settings page, scroll down to the bottom.
- Tap on “About Firefox”.
- Tap on the Firefox logo 5 times. It will display a message that says “Debug Menu enabled”.
If you go back to the Settings page, you’ll notice that a new option is available under the Advanced section.
It’s called Custom Add-on Collections.
Tap on it, and it will ask you to enter the collection owner’s ID, and the collection’s name.
The ID is a unique 6-digit number that can be found in your add-on collection’s URL.
The name of course refers to the collection’s name, unlike the number this is something that you can choose.
For example,
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/collections/***926754***/***ghacks***/ The ID for this collection is 926754 and the name is ghacks.
FYI using this method with Mull & Tampermonkey.
Not at the moment.
There’s an issue for it on GitHub, but it’s unlikely to be implemented: https://github.com/LemmyNet/lemmy/issues/2397
I find their argument (from 2022) about switching instances very uncompelling. Now we have instances fully dedicated to things like NSFW. It makes it a lot simpler to allow folks to block instances than adding more reasons for users to encourage defederating. In the infamous Beehaw defederation announcement they said “all we have is a nuke” and that’s true. It would be nice if users could selectively disable content they don’t like without having to encourage their instance admins to use that nuke.
To be clear, I’m not saying Beehaw shouldn’t have defederated or that this feature could’ve stopped it, I’m just saying their description of defederating as the nuclear option is accurate.
Why can’t I see comments?
It seems only select posts actually let me see the comments. Even ones that I leave.

Pretty funny how Jerboa turns your version numbers into links to IP addresses :-) I would prefer if it didn’t do that, I imagine it’s rarely the intention.
It’s because they typed it like that. Doing it like this 0.18 doesn’t trigger it
Yeah that gets turned into a phone link
I think you can do it with uBlock Origin on desktop.
