    An investigation by the governor’s office found that the foreign-owned farm had violated some of its lease terms. Hobbs called it unacceptable that the farm “continued to pump unchecked amounts of groundwater out of our state while in clear default on their lease.”

    Important to note, AZ didn’t cancel the lease illegally.

      Another important thing to note: This change was led by the new governor, Katie Hobbs. The previous governor, Doug “I don’t give a shit about my constituents” Ducey, was content to let them keep up their unacceptable violations.

    It’s too bad states didn’t pay attention to this stuff years ago instead of waiting until drought conditions are so bad.

    No foreign nation should be pumping water without restriction.

      Yes and no.

      Imagine how bad the water situation has to be for that government in particular to tell the Saudis and their infinite bank accounts to take a hike.
