This why the bail system is bullshit.
Dude showed up shirtless with a gun demanding to see the governor, and was out on bail by 9pm and immediately went back with a bigger gun and did the same thing.
The amount of money he has shouldn’t be a factor on if he’s a danger to society
It’s why I don’t understand how “cash bail” is coded as a law and order thing. How is it lawful or orderly to base who gets to walk free on who has money?
Cash bail is clearly about a class-based justice system: those with money walk free, those who don’t go straight to jail.
I hope Gov Evers has plenty of security. I have grave concerns for Wisconsin overall. With Janet being impeached, likely drawn out as long as possible, she will not hear a case. I just assume anyone in a massive truck is an MAGA alcoholic with a gun.
