This must be the strangest community I have encountered here so far.

To put it simple, to live is to suffer, so it would be better if people didn’t give the curse of life to other people.

Because I don’t think I owe anything to anyone to the point of being seen as a weirdo for not wanting to bring another human being to this shitshow called Earth.

Some people need therapy instead of these weird chambers

Some people need to stop breeding just for the sick sadistic pleasure of watching their kids suffer climate change, war, rents/cost of living rising every six months, rise of Nazis and Nazi wannabes.

This isn’t something therapy can fix, this is objective facts. What pill is gonna stop inflation? What CBT is gonna stop Antartica from melting?

Why would Nazis, climate change, war, rent, cost of living all matter if nobody is going to experience it? Your argument falls flat.

…That’s the point. A hypothetical child can’t suffer under fascism, climate change, economic oppression, or compulsory violence if they’re never born.

          You’re not making any sense.

There’s 8 billion people alive and many are experiencing these things right now.

Why add more to the pile?

Lemmy itself is an echo chamber, to be completely honest with you.

While therapy is useful for people from various walks of life, it’s short sighted IMO to use it as an attack tool towards people whose views you don’t agree with… not everyone on the net shares the same views on things and has gone through the same experiences

Lemmy is a protocol, and you can have a huge variety of instances and communities on those instances using that protocol, with widely varying degrees of echo-chamber-ness.
