Hi!

This is actually my first post on Lemmy so sorry if anything is messed up, but I was just wondering if anyone’s explored (or knows of anyone who has) the idea of training a stable diffusion dreambooth/LoRa on their face then asking it to feminize it.

I’m not currently in the position to easily or openly explore too much, and thought this might help me personally (and if no one else has I might try it myself then release the steps I took!)

I’ve heard that this can be harmful because it would give you unrealistic expectations. An AI image model would grossly exaggerate feminine features in this case, more so than would become apparent on gender affirming treatment. Male to female camera filters are the same way. I would steer clear of this train of thought, personally.

That’s actually a really good point I didn’t think of, I wonder if you could train it on before/after images to get something more modest and bone-shape-respecting

Faceapp (even the free version) will give you a couple of “gender swap” options. Just keep in mind it may make changes that are impossible irl (or require surgery), so be careful with what expectations you take from it.

Yeah honestly Faceapp is surprisingly good! When I first started my transition I thought Faceapp’s interpretation of me was unattainable, but I can confidently say 2 years later I look almost exactly like that original image. They absolutely nailed it! The only differences are that they thought I’d have thinner eyebrows and a slightly paler complexion, but that’s pretty much it.

A big unattainable thing it can do is enlarge eyes on certain faces. It’s worth keeping in mind. I also actually prefer how my face looks after FFS and many years HRT vs what Faceapp came up with. So yeah, YMMV.

I haven’t seen anyone do this, but it’s certainly possible. Do update us if you succeed.

Try to use a measured hand when using any feminization tool or software. The images they send can be as damaging to us as they are exciting. Ultimately they’re just generated images, and will likely not show you an accurate portrayal of what feminizing hormone therapy will do to your face. I mostly pass at a glance today, but I look nothing like what faceapp showed me pre-hrt.

Avoid it. There’s a higher chance of self-harm than -healing.
