Why do the citizens of your city make the decisions they do, and how does that affect traffic simulation? In today’s Feature Highlights, we go over the improved Traffic AI.
Man this is gonna be such a game changer. I feel like late game cities skylines was overwhelmingly a traffic jam simulator. This should help so much
I loved City Skylines, but never advanced far enough to have problems with the AI traffic, but I read over and over again that was a big late-game problem. Hoping that it’s resolved in CS2, but this video didn’t really answer the question. Hope we see some performance results from large-pop cities in the run-up to release.
Otherwise, the traffic accidents was a really neat inclusion!
I hope the traffic “costs” they mentioned in the video are configurable for mod support. But I’m very happy to hear that they gave the traffic AI the ability to make decisions based on multiple factors.
Anybody else notice the two trucks switching off their high beams while they passed by each other? That was an awesome tiny detail!
