I’m looking for sunscreen recommendations - specifically for outdoor activities (hiking, etc), but if you’ve got everyday sunscreen recs, I’ll take those too. I generally prefer mineral sunscreens and I’m in the US, but feel free to share whatever sunscreens you like and hopefully others will benefit also.

Bonus points if it doesn’t burn your eyes when you get really sweaty.

Definitely the Neutrogena Ultra Sheer. I have to bathe in the stuff, and it’s by far the least greasy.

Yeah that’s one of the few that don’t make me break out on my face.

This is the best stuff. It goes on and dries nicely without leaving a residue, and doesn’t sweat out into your eyes.

I think I have used this in the past. I don’t remember it very well, but I seem to remember liking it and I see that they have a mineral version that I can get locally, so thank you!

Biore UV watery essence or LA Roche-Posay Anthelios invisible fluid. As a bearded man, these two sunscreens are my go to as they don’t leave a white cast and don’t sit on my beard hair. They are both very popular sunscreens with the skincareaddiction community. While you could probably find the latter at a store, I usually have to buy the Biore one from Amazon where it ships from Japan.

blue lizard sunscreen sticks are my favorite. They’re really lightweight so great for hiking, vegan/not tested on animals, reef safe, they last a long time, since it’s a stick you can’t get goop anywhere accidentally, and they don’t make my skin feel gross at all like most sunscreen does for me. I’ve never felt any burn in my eyes when sweating. They’re kinda expensive but imo worth it

Thanks, I haven’t tried a stick before, but that does sound really appealing, especially for carrying around. I had a sunscreen leak in my bag with my phone ages ago. Amazingly, it still worked, but I spent the next few years with a very blotchy screen.

It’s been a while, but I wanted to come back and thank you for this rec, because I really like the blue lizard sunscreen. I got the stick for my face and tube stuff for the rest of my body and I’m really pleased with them. These actually rub in very well and I’m not leaving white streaks on everything I touch.

Heliocare 360 by Cantabria Labs. Used Avéne, Vichy and LaRoche-Posay before but since discovering their Aerogel I haven’t looked back. Super smooth on the skin and doesn’t cake on my body hair and it doesn’t irritate the eyes. They have an oral supplement in capsule form to reduce skin damage and photoaging. Also they offer a mineral solution. I see that Walgreens carry their oral supplement, however their sunscreen products aren’t but maybe you can find a retailer that does?

This sounds like it would be a really good everyday option. I will look for it, thanks!

I use sunscreen all the time, especially during the summer. My go to is the high SPF Neutrogena. Seems to stay on through sweat and is kind to my eyes

I prefer Hawaiian Tropic Sheer Touch because it’s easy to apply, and doesn’t feel pasty or oily. But I’m taking note of these other suggestions.
