My ADHD brain can’t focus well on cleaning unless I get that weird hyperfocus on it. Last time I got it it lasted a couple days and I got a Lotta things done. It was nice.

I think everyone is living this. You‘re not fucked because you live this but you have the brains to be aware of it.

And we live in a time and place where most of our base needs are easily met. Mind has far more time to ponder.

The quality of life worldwide has steadily been increasing since industrialization.

The quality of life of middle class white Americans has remained pretty much unchanged since the end of the second world war.

Im not going to get examples, but that’s what my point was.

I‘m sorry but this is not correct. People used to live in one worker households and got by. The housing prices (only thing I could find) in the US has tripled since the sixties which is an increase of 7% pa.

GDPs are rising fast but wages are not keeping up. Here‘s a source for europe: https://www.ft.com/content/0a245c28-6cc3-11e9-80c7-60ee53e6681d

It’s not like poor white people are having ouwie now. The 1% are 10000%ing their income while the rest goes home empty.

Doing something physical is so much healthier than doing nothing. It’s not just an illusion, it can really help people to get back on track.

Yeah, usually if I get stuck in my head I’ll just go work in the garden. Bit of sunshine and toil usually gets me unstuck.

What’s the point? Now my room is clean… Why am I even still here?

I need to move out of this box of sardines but because of medical bills and house prices I can’t.

    What is the point?

Sorry… You guys caught me on a very bad day mentally and I can’t even clean to get this shit out of my head.

Sorry to hear that, my friend. Hang in there, ok? Don’t do anything sudden.

I would help you if I could but I am mentally in a similar situation.

another trick is to making cleaning actually fun by challenging yourself… try it blindfolded, or with one hand, etc.

Does it? I usually forget to clean after smoking weed and get distracted by other activities

Both are the real speedy clean & squishy relaxed deal. Enough energy to clean a lot, but take your time at some spots, because stoned focus removes the sturdiest of stains.

My “trick” is to put it off until I can’t bear the mess anymore and then it actually feels like I’m getting something done and I’m doing it because I want to as opposed to it being a pointless chore
