    There will always be people saying that this is inevitable; canoe occupants standing ever taller in the canoe, destabilizing it, calling it progress. Eventually, we all get wet. Eventually, there will be no forest to destroy, and our dominion will be absolute. Not that I’m biased or defeatist…
