I had no idea they were Swedish until I just looked them up. They’ve had about a bazillion band members too!

Todd in the shadows had a video about this. They aren’t a band, more of a trademark. A creation of a production studio. That’s why there ware so many member. The name was for sale at some point.

Oh interesting, I’ll check that out. In a bunch of their photos they reminded me more of a Renaissance Faire performance group (obviously different subject matter), so that totally makes sense.

Where I’m from, this song is played anytime there is a large enough gathering… From middle-school dances to prom, even weddings and funerals, they form a line dance and everything.

I hate it so much. Thanks for sharing lol

I get it. It always cropped up at school dances when I was a teenager. I hated it then. It’s just a funny little song that gets stuck in my head from time to time now. I guess distance made me love it again.

When you say funerals, it makes me imagine an organ arrangement of this song. I don’t know how I feel about that.

Not to worry: we’ll make sure you’re good and dead before we get that organ pumping

The song you linked… Made my son cry.

I’ve decided to give him up for adoption as he has very poor taste in music.

Maybe he’s truly understood the tragedy of being a plantation slave and losing their lover to a plantation owner with alcoholic-induced glaucoma, who moves them to another plantation to separate you both (original context of the song from the 1800s, not the modern version, of course)

Never liked this song very much because it was overplayed before I was even born. It is kinda catchy though I’ll give it that.

Also now that there’s some god awful bassboosted sped up version going around I feel kind of relieved when I hear the “normal” version play

I always have it in my ear when I’m working out. Luckily I’m massively over 40 and have many excuses not to work out these days.
