You can actually read the Hylian script on the pages, tho I dearly hope that this is just a placeholder text … otherwise I have some questions for King Rhoam.
The vast majority of texts in books, on signs etc. can be translated into proper English by the way. You just have to keep in mind that some letters look identical in the Hylian script (like for example O and Z using the same symbol) so a little bit of guesswork might be needed. It’s easier in context - when you have to decide if a word spells “school” or “schzzl” then only one of them makes sense ;)

Just in case, here’s the actual Zelda Wiki page: https://zeldawiki.wiki/wiki/Hylian_(Language)#Tears_of_the_Kingdom
(edited to use a []() link, I used <> earlier and a plain link (without formatting) at first)
Fediverse moment: the pound symbols in both your and JLFD’s links are being interpreted as tags by kbin, which is then trying to link to a tag search. Nothing for either of you to fix, just FYI.
Oof. Hm … does it work with a hyperlink under a different name, like this one? Technically the link doesn’t contain any (visible) special characters that way.
Hyperlink works as expected 👍
Thanks for the feedback! ^^ Guess I’ll just use hyperlinks from now on, heh.
Rock on. Though honestly kbin seems like a dying platform, so it’s not a huge deal to most. I heard someone is working on a fork called mbin, but right now Lemmy has as close as to what can be called “critical mass” so far as niche Reddit alternatives go.
The original formatting works just fine within Voyager FWIW. Apollo for Lemmy when?
🪦🫡
…wait, no. @[email protected] 's comment doesn’t have a link at all in Voyager. It just ends at the colon. That’s weird.
And it also didn’t render my @ mention properly. Kbin did. ᕕ(ᐛ)ᕗ
It does no longer have a link for me as well, and there is this little “pen” symbol that indicates the comment has been modified after posting … maybe the original poster removed the link, but not the rest of the comment?
Though that might just be a caching thing. tl;dr kbin is buggy… I just really like the web interface >_>
Now it works perfectly, at least on Lemmy.World ^^
