People keep having kids, but can’t be fucking bothered to leave behind a world worth living in. It’s hateful. Straight up.
I grew up thinking the US and USSR were going to blow up the world at any minute. Then I thought we’d be OK. Now, I’m back to thinking the world might blow up any minute, again. So yes, this could have a lasting effect on children.
If it’s any consolation (it’s not) it won’t blow up, it’ll just steadily get worse.
That has been my experience so far but things seem to be accelerating.

I live in a northern city and was out in just a T-shirt at night earlier this week. So yeah, something’s wrong. Spent most of the summer sucking down wildfire smoke. I’m assuming next year will be worse.
We seem to be hitting seasonal norms soon but I’m not holding my breath. The forecasts here seem very unreliable more than a day or two out in terms of temp… for some reason.
Yeah we’re 10 degrees above seasonal averages where I am.
