Any time I get to a forced survey I just hit other and answer with “No.”

How would they know that you’ve done it in protest? The point is communicating that it’s bullshit so it stops not to fuck up their data whilst they keep doing it.

I mean it won’t stop either way, but ensuring they know how shit they are should be the point, surely.

All that does is lead to incorrect conclusions that are then taken into consideration when they decide what to do next, which will then affect us again. Seems like yours is at least as ineffective a protest, they certainly don’t care. Not to mention there definitely isn’t going to be anywhere near enough people doing it to have any effect whatsoever.

To yours the response can only ever be nothing. Because they don’t know it’s happening. It won’t even enter their mind, maybe even if everyone did it. If everyone just said no in the other comment box they’d at least have a “oh shit everyone really hates this” moment before they went back to ignoring it.

The other option generally has a text box associated with it, so I generally paste the lyrics of the song stuck to my head at that moment.

The article is over sensationalised. Asking users why they’re moving to another product or uninstalling a software is very common and has been happening for decades. As long as they don’t stop you unless you respond there’s nothing harmful here - and they aren’t stopping or even delaying you in this case - it’s a poll that shows on after you’ve started downloading.

Yeah. The only site I ever use edge for is ninite.com. It’s like a one stop shop for all the basic needs on a new system.

Microsoft got on my hate list in the 90s and up till steve balmer left. Even through they are much more sane nowadays I still don’t trust them.
