    This article is total bullshit.

It claims at one point that vapes are being marketed as “nicotine-free” “despite containing nicotine” and then links to another article on their own site that makes the claim that vapes marketed as “nicotine-free” “most likely still contain nicotine” to support that assertion.

This definitely doesn’t belong in a science community.

Additionally, there are nicotine free vapes and they’re easy to identify if you spend 5 seconds looking at what you’re buying. This is just another hit piece against vaping, citing itself as a reputable source, and making absolutely no point. They don’t really say anything meaningful and instead just waive their hands around, acting as if what they’re saying is troublesome. Even their headline is misleading and vapid.

Wait, aside from THC vapes what other nicotine free vapes are there? I’m assuming they’re for people trying to quit?

There are many options that are the same flavor as a regular nicotine vape, but they’re 0mg nicotine. Yes, for people quitting, or for people who just like vape but not nicotine.

That’s kinda neat actually. Prolly still not great for your lungs though lol, and I say this as a stoner

I vaped 0 nicotine with peppermint flavor for about a year or so after I tapered down from the highest possible nicotine I could find using a box mod.

I’ve only been completely off the vape now for about 2 months but I allowed myself about 6 years to eventually work down to the 0 nicotine mix and I feel zero negative effects on my lungs. (Anecdotal, of course.)

I really only finally quit because I lost my favorite vape and decided I didn’t really miss it all that much.

I definitely feel it on my lungs, but it’s not anywhere near as damaging as cigarettes were.

“They clearly are marketing directly to children!”

Bitch, I better never see you eating a piece of candy again in your life.

Raisin bran and black coffee only for you for the rest of your life, since according to you a) adults aren’t allowed to like tasty things and b) noone is allowed to ingest something unhealthy.

Fuck, there is a strong argument that the cotton candy is worse for you than the cotton candy vape juice (provided its an actual non-black-market well made vape juice, and not the shit the Chinese black market has been spreading that is full of heavy metals).

Raisin Bran has more sugar than many “kids” breakfast cereals, so it’s even more hypocritical.

If you live in a decent city then everything is near schools. Schools should be sprinkled throughout your community, providing ease of access for people in different parts of town.

That makes no sense. You buy cigarettes the same way you buy a vape. This is click bait.

Not just clickbait, either. Straight up lies.

They cite their own article, INCORRECTLY I might add, to say “nicotine free vapes aren’t nicotine free”.

I mean, if this is the scientific standard people listen to nowadays, I have some bridges that need selling. scientifically

As George Carlin said, young people buy nicotine products because they relieve stress. I was on my way to quitting (cigarettes > vape > much less vape) when the pan hit. I kept vaping cause I allowed myself a comfort. I’m still vaping. I’m in my 40s.

They do provide the brief illusion of stress relief, but physiologically they pretty much do the opposite by getting you into chronic nicotine withdrawals.

I’m very lucky that nicotine just makes me feel nauseous and sick, it’s also really uncomfortable to inhale.

That was my experience with the first two or three cigarettes I had. It went away very quickly. I smoked for seven years and thankfully have now been smoke-free longer than that.

I dont get it. Big tobacco owns the vaping industry. So why would they sponsor an article that makes availability seem bad?

Also, smoking had been on the down trend among newer generations? So vaping is a potentially good hook to lead to cigarettes among newer generations. Will be an interesting study on the impact of newer generations as opposed to the older ones who are using it as quitting aids.

This is absurd. Nobody is starting with vaping and then progressing on to cigarettes. Cigarettes taste like shit and they make you stink. This is coming from someone who kicked a decade+ cigarette addiction with vaping.

I grew up with people who didn’t smoke, but later picked up the habit after vaping. So it’s why I was wondering about studies over anecdotal evidence whether it be yours or mine.

I don’t care what people choose to do with their bodies. More curiosity over in market shifts and what type of new consumers are emerging.
