Is it me or are the first two episodes quite disappointing?

I felt episode 1 was disappointing, but I rather enjoyed episode 2.

Disappointment has two components, expectations and results. Maybe your expectations were too high? Maybe you were expecting the best Rick and Morty episodes, and the result was just normal Rick and Morty episodes? They haven’t been bad, if that’s what you’re asking, but they also haven’t been excellent, if that’s what you were expecting.

I’ve enjoyed them, but even though I agree with the decision to get rid of roiland, they just aren’t the same without him

I honestly don’t notice a difference, but we haven’t heard a lot of Morty rants.

No, the dialogue didn’t have the same wit, the plot was more predictable than in earlier seasons.

But it’s kinda like the team that wins the Superbowl - they usually can’t compete the next year because all their really good players get inticed to other teams.

I know some of the writers went to work on Loki. Did they come back? Plus, the heart of the show was Roiland and Harmon just bouncing ideas back and forth, so I’m not sure that’s happening any more.

The third episode at least felt not as pathetic and desperate, but still fell short of what it could’ve been.

Kinda, yeah, but I liked the second more than the first. Just hoping they don’t stoop as low as giant incest babies and sex dragons again.

EDIT: The episodes got much, MUCH better. In fact, I’d say the recent ones have been some of the best since the classic era. No incest jokes!
