Just kind of was thinking about it today, love photos and take a million of em, would be cool to be able to just buy some prints directly from Apple and have em mailed to you or to friends.

I still have a few. The books were super high quality - typical of Apple - compared to literally everything else you could get at the time.

Agreed. I made photo yearbooks that way. They’re amazing. Guess they just weren’t in demand enough to keep the partnership going with their print service provider.

If you’re interested, the company they partnered with was Motif, and they have apps for iOS and macOS. Same quality and very intuitive layout editing.

Like someone else already mentioned, there are plugins that allow you to do this on a Mac. However… I found them to be overpriced and wasn’t even sure where in the world they get printed. I ended up finding a photo print business that I know is local and had decent prices and features on their site and I just use that.

Several of the quality photo book print services that I’ve used do their printing in the USA and Japan.

There’s plug-ins (or apps that integrate with photos) that let you order prints directly from the photos app.

Based on the dozen notifications about it I get every month, yeah, Google photos still does that.

And no, I can’t seem to turn them off.
