The high court has not launched an investigation into claims of ethics violations against Justice Thomas, lawmakers said in a letter to Chief Justice John Roberts.
I’m sure as usual they’ll run investigation on themselves and find no wrongdoing.
They have a much better record than Republicans on that, if imperfect.
So much for checks and balances
The Supreme Court is in need of a deep clean. Unfortunately that’s just not possible in today’s political environment. Worst of all, they know it and have zero fear of repercussions so they just keep doing what they want.
Sounds familiar. I don’t know how you do a major shake up on any of the foundational pillars of government right now. People figured out that working on the honour system meant they could do whatever they wanted.

While I think the GOP is becoming a hateful/fearful “persecute and hate those that don’t conform” party , the democrats just don’t do anything to make meaningful steps in the other direction. We get two failed parties, failing for different reasons.
Imagine that they’re not failing , but working perfectly. Imagine what that means.
Oh I’m well aware the groups within and behind them think they are working just fine. But to me both are failing the people of the country.
