Really happy with how much support this game got. Wasn’t expecting for them to add so many new modes, items, courses, and characters since the original Wii U launch all the way back in 2014.

I’ve loved this Booster Course Pass. It’s been so fun being able to look forward to new waves of content for MK8DX. The majority of the new tracks have been very fun to play on. They continued to surprise me by doing a lot more than courses, too. Characters, options, small features, and even balance tweaks!

Sure, it wasn’t all perfect. Sure, all of the tracks are just brought over from Tour and not remixed the same way the base game remixed its retro offerings. Sure, Wave 1 looked like it was made in Roblox. But overall, I think the good far outweighs the bad. This DLC has been awesome. I’m honestly going to miss it. But hey, Wave 6 looks fantastic, so we’re ending the BCP with a bang.

Ok how bout Mario Kart 9 already? We went through the lifespan of switch with a Mario Kart remake. I played Mario Kart 8 to death on Wii U, I want a new one. Mario Kart 8 is almost 10 years old ffs

The DLC added 48 tracks. The Average Mario Kart game has 36 tracks. They also added 8 new characters. They added a whole game worth of content in the DLC. The DLC is Mario Kart 9.

No it’s just mk8 dlc. If it was 9 they would have released it as Mario Kart 9, but it’s just add ons for a 10 year old game

What do you want in Mario Kart 9? Is it just a new title, or is there something mechanically that you want iterated on?

What exactly would a new Mario kart even get you? Each one is more or less the exact same game with a few new tracks - personally I prefer getting so many new tracks on 8 vs a new title

@bitsplease on the single player I don’t think so. The items are fine, but I would like them to be more like in super mario kart. Right now, if you go in 1st or 2nd is ok, but if you drop to the middle positions you can’t even drive properly, it’s a mess of items, it’s annoying. Basically the last positions have super items all the time that spoils the race to everyone

I agree that it’d be nice to have options for these things, but personally I like most of the features you want gone 🤷🏼‍♂️ for me - MK isnt for competitive racing, it’s for chaotic fun - the handicap mechanics are great because it means you can play with anyone and still have a fun time. The person in last dropping a blue shell or bullet bill only spoils the fun if you’re treating it like an esport, otherwise it just keeps things interesting

And as the best MK player in my circle, I can also attest that skill 110% matters in MK. sure you may get the occasional game where you just get stupid unlucky and your noob friend gets stupid lucky so they win, but 9/10 the best players still finish first in my experience

We will probably get Mario Kart 9 with the next iteration of the console. Other than the games already announced, if we get anything else, it would probably be some other remake, maybe Metroid Prime 2 remake or something.
