In the last movie Thanos was planning to completely remade the whole universe (by erasing this old one). So Ironman has tecnically saved the whole universe.

Also, it was the Hulk that undid the “erase half of everything” that Thanos initially did. So when Ironman snaps, he saves the entire universe (including the recently returned) from Thanos 2.0’s plan of remaking it.

The 2014 Thanos from Endgame was going to destroy all life in the universe. He learned that his alternate version succeeded but the survivors were able to circumvent him, so resolved to destroy all life and start over from scratch.

So Iron Man did save all life in the universe.

Edit: I now see that there are other comments and replies to this when I go direct to this post on lemmy.world but none of those are federating back. Hopefully .world updates to 0.18.x soon.

Wait… Did you say 2014? As in 9 years ago?

Oh, hold on… Endgame came out in 2019. That’s better, I thought I had just woken up from a coma.

I think he meant in-universe 2014. That was the year Nebula and Rhodey traveled to for the power stone where that timeline’s Thanos became aware of the time travel plot. That’s the Thanos that’s the big bad for the rest of the movie.

Saved the other half from a big headache. Nobody wants to come in to work because the other half of the universe can’t make their shift.

Hulk was the one that brought everybody back. Ironman did away with Thanos to prevent it happening again.
