Damn, this is why I stopped fixing people’s computers, they act like they’re helping at first and then you wonder if it’s fear you’ll steal something… but then you realize it’s praying you don’t see all their porn. 🙄
At least Gen X and younger tend to know to clear browser history before handing it over.
Lol That’s true, but then you have to worry about the few that didn’t.
Me fucking around with console commands that don’t do anything for 15 minutes so they don’t get pissed off that they’re paying me $100 to turn off the sleep setting on the tv they are using as a monitor.
Would it help if we deleted some communications? I have a lot of them.
Oh, since we’re in here, let me tell you about all these captain’s logs we’re about to delete so you have some extra context about my shore leave from 25 years ago.
Why is this maintenance taking so long? It seems like all we’ve done is look at old logs…
Can you save the pictures I uploaded? I would hate to lose them.
Data: There’s a folder here labelled … ‘Dinner recipes’ … and its taking up 30% of the ships memory banks … that is an large portion of the ships resources for cooking instructions.
Riker: … thats mine … don’t touch that … actually forget about it, we don’t need to fix it anymore.
Most disturbing thing is Geordi’s hand pushed up against a touch screen device
Sometimes I just pick up my phone and all of a sudden it’s playing a youtube video because I somehow set it off
Makes you wonder how many times the crew have accidentally ejected the warp core or separated the saucer section by someone touching the wrong corner of a touch screen.
Turns out Tuvix existed because someone set a mug down in the wrong spot.
Had to fix my MIL’s laptop this week. All I did was clone the hdd to an SSD, disabled all the bloat on startup and took a spare ac adapter from work. I think I said “I fixed the file system, ran a virus scan and optimized the configuration.” Somehow using TV tech lingo works better than saying what you actually did.
You should of just handed them the old hard drive and said you “removed the cancer”
bring a small prayer crucifix and tell them you’ve exorcised the demons and blessed the motherboard
Which button to choose when it says “press any button”?
4 hours later … hmmmm? …
Exactly. Stay or leave, up to you, but for the love of God if all you’re gonna do is ask me if I tried restarting please just be quiet.
Factoid: people who fix computers rarely call them a PC.
