Horse tranquilizers? If it works, why not?
I’m a therapist, and I’ve had several patients on ketamine infusions. Most had great results. One has severe treatment-resistant depression and didn’t get any relief, but that’s to be expected, not everything is going to work for 100% of people. I’ve seen wonderful transformations in people with trauma and depression on ketamine.
EDIT: You don’t have to do infusions, you can also do a sublingual tablet. The infusions are more intense from what I hear. No personal experience.
I’m a huge huge ketamine advocate. Absolutely changed my life!
Wow I feel like im missing out! Any side effects?
Side affects are immediate relief from anxiety, depression, and PTSD. Also it’s a fun as hell experience. Ketamine is a hallucinagin as well as a dissociative (it’d a fun trip, I was scared of hallucinagins but turns out a lot of that scariness is just effective D.A.R.E. propaganda). Lasts about an hour tho the afterglow/come-down is nice. The day of, assume you’ll be out of it till bedtime and you might need to take it easy the day afterward.
I’ve had treatment resistent depression since middle school. It flipped something in my brain. I’ve recommended a lot of people to the local place and everyone has had great results. I had been hearing for a long time it was a miracle drug and I completely agree. I was never able to get my hands on it tho until treatment places started popping up.
So yeah, if you can find a place to do it and afford it, give it a shot. Worst case you’ll have an interesting experience. I prefer the intramuscular to intravenous for official treatments.
^Quick PSA: If you decide to DIY (yay American Healthcare), be sure to get testing strips cause any white powder might have fent in it! Testing strips are often free to get most places and better safe than sorry^

Sorry to bring some bad news, but unfortunately ketamine does have some side effects. Link talks about one big one, being that long term usage can cause temporary and even permanent damage of your bladder and urethra (I believe all disassociatives cause this). There’s also the potentially bad mental side effects that are present in nearly any psychedelic, such as the potential to cause schizophrenia when the user is genetically predisposed (not really cause schizophrenia, they always kinda had it, but the psychedelic can intensify the latent mental effects).
But overall, if you research heavily beforehand and use cautiously, especially for your first time, you’ll probably be good. You’ll be even better if you use in a clinical setting alongside a specialist.
I also had really terrible nausea with it. During the session it was fine, but then coming down afterwards I would be too queasy to do anything for at least a few hours. The NP I was seeing had some anti-nausea meds, but it didn’t help much. It was getting progressively worse the more times I went, so I eventually stopped.
The positive mental effects were definitely as advertised though! I had crippling PTSD and it felt comparable to a paralyzed person suddenly standing up and walking away from their wheelchair.
How often do you have to take a dose?
Lol, horse tranq is a myth. Mostly.
K was used as an anaesthetic in the vietnam war for american troops. Because it was lighter to carry that around than tanks of nitrous oxide.
It works. https://www.mindbloom.com/
Any way to get insurance to cover it?
Maybe it’s just because I’m too entrenched in my own tired and cynical shut-in brain, but I can see it being a catch-22 to get it for some people even if it’s a miracle-cure. Particularly with how things run here, or recent issues.
Looking into it, definitely seems like a chore and probably not a quick cure (at least the at-home option).
