Is it normal to briefly see a different name in the corner when I first load the page? Instead of my name sometimes it says something about Potato but it happens so fast I can’t read the rest. I keep trying to get a screenshot but so far no go.

I’ve had this too. It seems pretty worrisome.

(I’m lazy, so upvote and copy & paste) I’ve had this too. It seems pretty worrisome.

I’m getting an issue where sometimes when I open a post, it shows me some baseball game’s scores or something. It’s very odd and only really seems to happen on mobile (using Edge), but I don’t use Lemmy on my desktop quite as often yet so it could happen there.

    Very odd.

I’ve also seen that. Felt like I was going insane and clicking the wrong thread but eventually figured out it wasn’t me.

Yeah I’m not sure that it happens on desktop, but again I don’t use it on my desktop as often. I can even just refresh the page when it happens and the right one pops up, so I’m wondering if there’s an issue with ActivityPub potentially serving up the wrong post somehow.

I am almost 100% on desktop and can confirm it does happen there.

In addition to erroneous account names, sometimes I also receive erroneous post scores. As in, all the way in the hundreds, which for me is by no means realistic!

I’m assuming something is messed up with the cache service. This could mean that other users could have read-only access to your data but not update or act on your behalf. It’s definitely something that should be fixed but I’m not sure there is anything super private that would be revealed.

Steam had an issue like that a couple years ago but it was worse because it revealed other users personal details like payment methods and home addresses.
