It looks like I can still see the posts in my feed, so this might be a purely visual bug, but still. Is this due to everyone everywhere being hammered by the reddit exodus?
I have the same issue but the communities appear both on my feed and my subscription list, so it’s probably a visual bug.
Beehaw usually works fine for me but lemmy.ml seems to be problematic.
Beehaw had the same issue until a few hours ago so I assume it’s a load issue.
I think it may be a visual bug. Happens to me too. When I first click “subscribe”, seemingly nothing happens. If I click subscribe again I’ll get stuck on “pending”. If I leave the page and go back I’ll see I’m not subscribed, but when I look at my subscriptions I’ll see it there twice!
I’ve started clicking subscribe and then just leaving the page. While the button doesn’t react, it does seem to be working.
Give it a bit and they will become active.

I definitely think it’s possible, I am having similar problems.
I’m still stuck on subscription pending for a bunch of communities. I see this both on the community list, and on the individual community pages themselves. Perhaps mods need to approve new users?
Try unsubbing and subbing again, worked for me when it happened.

My main feed is now mostly just gaming unfortunately
Same here. I’m hoping it’s just a bug: I subscribed to so many like this and hoping it still goes through otherwise I’ll have to go look for everything all over again
