    Imagine Dragons is the band my god daughter was obsessed with at 9 but a year later she was embarassed about it.

      My 10 year old loves them, and I remember being his age and feeling the same way about Billy Joel and Van Halen. So I try not to make him feel bad about it, because nobody should feel embarrassed about enjoying something.

      Pop music is made to be catchy, fun, and easy to like. Kids don’t have access to underground music scenes, and they don’t have the experience to even recognize the nuance that separates music they love from music they recognize.
