    Why couldn’t we just make conditions decent enough for them to tolerate their stay and launch education and schooling career choices to encourage them getting back into the society once they have done their time and then having a chance to start earning money in lawful ways…
    Instead of torturing them all and leaving them in their filth when they are not tortured…

      … and expecting them to act like regular untortured people when they’re released from jail.

      Because it’s a capitalistic run criminal organization and they need their criminals to come back

      Some places do. And while I don’t know if it has better outcomes in the end, it does translate into a calmer stay, for everyone! I used to watch MSNBC Lockup, and one of the wardens, a woman, ran her prison this way, with many perks rather than hard time. Less altercations was meaningful.
