Looks pretty decent, but 2 years of OS support is depressing.

I heard 4 years of security updates, which if true would make me pretty happy! I’d love long term OS updates too, but it’s at least a step in the right direction (in my opinion)

On that note, TIL Asus allows unlocking the bootloader, nice!

MrWhosetheboss’s video felt really weird to me, he kept speaking about the compromises of small phones without speaking about the ZenFone 10 specifically that much. He spoke about the hypothetically better battery of a larger phone but didn’t mention the ZenFone’s battery specifically, which seem to be quite good according to other reviewers. Then he spoke about there being less space for big camera sensors and said it has a worse camera than the bigger Pixel 7, as there is any phone, smaller or bigger, with a better camera that the Pixel.

I’d love a small phone like this. Sadly it’s a bit more expensive than I’m intending to pay for any smartphone, and my current phone is also still fine.

Looks like something I would want a friend to get because I want to try it but don’t think I could commit to a small phone

I’ve pre-ordered one in the UK and at £750 for 16/512GB currently, seems decent enough.

I wouldn’t switch out of my OnePlus 7T Pro if I didn’t have abysmal battery (now, and even when new somewhat average with my usage) and a cracked screen, but this will outperform it as the chipset on the 7T Pro is ageing too. I still get buttery performance 85% of the time, but I think I need something that performs well more consistently with better power management under load (my 7T Pro doesn’t like running things like Waze when there’s any degree of heat on it from the windscreen), and has a good battery experience.

The 7T Pro charging is still faster 0-80% even though both are 30W, with Warp Charging being a gamechanger for me, so other VOOC tech charging solutions would be neat to have., but if the overall power management and battery life are vastly improved in newer gen chipsets, then this should be fine.

Even with all that said, I have been aching for something smaller, lighter and with the character of the Nexus 5 I once adored, but with less of the flaws. And I think the Zenfone 10 will hit the spot for the next few years. I will miss the notchless display and its size for consuming YouTube content etc, but I will appreciate the flatter screen’s lack of reflections and faster refresh rate I’m sure.

My Zenfone 8 broke 6 times. Asus has terrible quality control and customer service. They even refused to refund my money.

Never would I buy Asus products again.
