Hello, just joined Lemmy like an hour ago. I was curious if there’s a way to have multiple accounts in Memmy and swap between them. For instance I made this account in Lemmy.world, but if I wanted to join another can I do that in this app? Sorry I’m trying to get up to speed with the transition here from Reddit.
It’s in Settings > Change Account Settings > Add
You can still access and interact with communities in other instances even if you signed up with the Lemmy.world instance. Not sure if that’s why you wanted to create an account on another instance or not. But as the other user mentioned, there should be a way within settings.
Is this true though? I follow music communities in different instances and see very different things depending on what accounts i use. From one instance there may be zero conversation and from another theres many comments. Also voting (does that even do anything here?) only works from local instance if im following correctly?
As an aside memmy is my fav app so far.
lemmy.world is having some problems syncing with other instances right now due to some captcha related upgrade, they are still squashing bugs but some other instances have upgraded already. And beehaw blocked lemmy.world I think ?

I would also like multi-account support. We need both alts and throwaways.
Seeing that when you go to your Feed in Memmy and at the top there’s a drop-down for your account I would think this is a feature that’ll be developed in the future.
Its already a feature for weeks now. If you add more than one account in the settings. That drop down at the top will let you switch between them.
