I feel like with the 3rd party apps shutting down tomorrow, Lemmy could be flooded with new users. It would be a shame if their first experience here is with that front page bug.

I saw that, just didn’t know if there were any updates.

Just so I understand: You read and understood the article with the problems and realized that admins are working the problem… yet you decide that asking another time would add something of value to that matter

To be fair this is a 2 days old, and with this “new wave” coming so close you would expect things going faster on everything for better or for worse.

If they haven’t make the change yet I would like to believe the environment has not changed so much since their last update.

I’d like to know why lemmy.world is so problematic would it be because of its large scale alone? I mean, Jerboa is unusable right now (update is coming) they had issues with Wefwef which were already fixed by communication between the devs and many other instance are updated so far.

Don’t take my comment as a criticism, after all myself as many others chose lemmy.world as our main instance and we know they are doing their best.

Kay, yet I would let admins some leeway. They are doing a great job and they will inform everyone if there is something new to say… or give a countdown when this instance explodes 😂

A quick glaze into the support community with everyone posting these new posts about the missing update would really spoil my work as admin.

Yeah I get it, but this comes with the community growing sadly 😅

For instance I’m having issues right now with Wefwef and it is wether bad implementations because of traffic or devs making changes under the hood lol.

This will pass. You have to take into consideration that this whole boom is new. Less than a month since lemmy and the client stepped up… nobody should expect bug free Apps or production grade stability.

Btw: Memmy for iOS works nicely.

Thanks! I would be a lot more worried about it, as someone who works in this space daily, if we didn’t have a robust admin/mod team. It’s a good group. We will definitely handle it in the best way possible.

I think it’s the use of web sockets. Causes the front page to constantly pull in new content and shift down. It’s not even content that belongs in the chosen sorting.

Ahh. My guess is that isn’t a “bug.” It’s more of a feature that was cool when Lemmy had very few posts, but now it’s annoying AF.

If it used the correct sorting, I would agree. But the posts that pop up do not belong in that sorting. I refresh and they go away.

But it is very disruptive when trying to view the front page. Until I heard it was a bug, I had a hard time using Lemmy. I assumed these 1 upvote 0 comment posts were supposed to be there. Now I just know I have to reload every time the front page starts shifting down.
