Does anyone know if Lemmy automatically strips exif data from images posted?

And if so, does that change if you’re using an app (e.g. Jerboa, Connect)?

    That probably would depend on the instance you upload to. Best practice would be to strip yourself first.

        Well, as as long as you’re not asking for money, I think any of the gonewild communities will suffice.

        Edit - of course we meant images. Those subs aren’t for text posts.

    Yes, by default anyway. A server admin could change the standard behavior it if they were so inclined.

    Highly doubt it, but if I was you I would test it and find out instead of listening to a random comment here.

  • I wouldn’t trust it to work all the time even if it did (not a thing against Lemmy, I wouldn’t trust any site to work 100% of the time) so I would just strip it myself before uploading.

    I tested withy account, and looks like it does. Or it was an app/frontend…
