I work next to a public park that uses this method. There’s one BIG downside to having sheep on the lawn.
Downside for you, but I’m sure the fertilizer is good for the grass! I wonder if goats would be less likely to do this?
they have. at least they do it with some things in my city with goats. sides of expressways and fields near the airport

People use ducks in a similar way to remove pests from fields.
It’s pretty adorable to watch the duck swarm at work.
It’s used again in places in Europe.
